Why Transition Seasons Are Uncomfortable: Learn How To Walk Through Them

You finally left Egypt… so why does peace feel uncomfortable?

Some women quietly struggle during their healing journey because nobody prepared them for the transition season.

They thought peace would immediately feel peaceful.

Instead, life gets quieter… and suddenly they feel restless. Uncomfortable. Almost disappointed.

There’s no chaos anymore. No constant urgency. No emotional highs and lows. No crisis to fix. No tension to manage.

And after living that way for so long, the stillness can feel unsettling at first.

This is when my clients start wondering: “Is this all there is?” “Why do I feel anxious now that things are finally calm?” “Why do I almost miss what was hurting me?”

Not because bondage was good. Because it was familiar.

The Israelites physically left Egypt long before Egypt left them mentally.

That’s why they kept wanting to go back.

Freedom felt unfamiliar, and the wilderness exposed what survival had covered up.

And honestly… stillness has a way of doing that to us, too.

When life finally slows down, we often come face to face with parts of ourselves we couldn’t fully see in the chaos.

The grief. The unhealthy patterns. The ways we learned to cope. The discomfort of being present with ourselves.

That can be a hard thing to sit with.

This is when many women return to chaos and old toxic cycles simply because it feels more familiar than peace.

Others assume something must be wrong spiritually because they prayed for peace, but peace does not yet feel natural in their body.

But healing is not just spiritual insight. It is also about learning how to live differently in a practical way.

Your mind, body, and nervous system often need time to catch up to the safety your spirit has already stepped into.

And that process takes grace and time.

It also takes resisting the urge to run back to the bondage that feels familiar.

I want to encourage you not to quit in the middle of the transition just because the wilderness feels uncomfortable.

Turning back would have cost them the Promised Land. You’ve come too far to cheat yourself out of the freedom you prayed for simply because your nervous system is still adjusting to peace.

It takes learning slower rhythms. Healthier boundaries. Rest. Consistency. Practical ways to support the life you prayed for, including getting to know yourself again in the quiet and discovering what genuinely brings you joy without all the noise.

The wilderness was never just about leaving Egypt.
It was about learning how to live outside of it, too.

If this season of transition feels confusing, uncomfortable, or emotionally exhausting, you do not have to walk through it alone.

This is the kind of work I help women with in coaching: learning how to move out of survival patterns, build a life that actually feels safe to live in, and practically support the peace they’ve been praying for.

Your Next Step

If this message spoke to your heart, take a moment to sit with it.

Many women walk through seasons when past wounds, difficult experiences, or unanswered questions surface in deeper ways. This can make life feel heavy, but it can become an invitation to healing, clarity, and renewed peace.

If this is where you are, faith-based health and wellness coaching offers a space to slow down, seek the Lord, and begin moving with greater strength and steadiness.

You don't have to walk through those seasons alone.

You were never meant to merely survive. You were created to rise in strength, walk in peace, and thrive in your divine purpose.
